At North Ronaldsay School we have been producing our own animations. The latest one, called "Tidal Wave Strikes", involved making the sets and models out of card and plasticine, animating them using a webcam and computer, adding titles and transitions, and recording our own music and sound effects.

Dear Cameron, Gavin, Ronan and Lilly
I loved the animated films, particularly the one with the surfing 'dude'. The chap who licks driftwood is a little scary, and probably needs to be careful given what washes up on the beaches of the north isles from time to time.
The two films with the lego characters are extremely good, too, and I was privileged to be invited to the 'premiere'. No red carpet, unlike the Oscars, but otherwise it was a truly memmorable experience. I will be keeping an eye on youtube to see when they are made available to the public.
Congratulations again on the fantastic animation. You will clearly be walking up the red carpet yourselves in years to come.
Thanks also for inviting me to the school and for asking so many interesting and varied questions. If the world of animation is not for you, then a job on Radio Orkney or at The Orcadian and Orkney Today may beckon.
Best wishes
Liam McArthur
